GIANT Original Cast Album Gets 5/21 Release

Ghostlight Records will release the Original Cast Recording of the acclaimed epic musical GIANT online and in stores on May21, 2013. GIANT had its New York Premiere at The Public Theater last fall, and was a co-production with Dallas Theater Center. GIANT features music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and a book by Sybille Pearson, based on the novel by Edna Ferber. With book by Sybille Pearson, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and directed by Michael Greif, Giant officially opened on Thursday, November 15 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 2. GIANT Original Cast Album Coming in Spring 2013!

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that the cast of the acclaimed epic musical GIANT will enter the recording studio in January to create an original cast album, which will be released by Ghostlight Records in spring 2013. GIANT officially opened at The Public on November 15 and features a book by Sybille Pearson, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and direction by Michael Greif. The show will end its limited run at The Public Theater at Astor Place on Sunday, December 16 following a final two-week extension. (more...)

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, East Coast producer of Asian-American theatre, will continue its 35th milestone season with the world premiere of RANGOON by Mayank Keshaviah. Broadway veteran Raul Aranas (Miss Saigon), who directed Pan Asian's long-running Off-Broadway hit, Yellow Fever, returns as director. The evening will be hosted by Broadway performer Raul Aranas (Miss Saigon) and comedian Stephen Park ("In Living Color"), and will honor actor Daniel Dae Kim (alum from Pan Asian Rep's 1993 production of A Doll's House and star of TV's "Hawaii Five-O" and "Lost," as well as the Academy Award-winning film Crash) and research scientist Dr. Patricia E Taylor.
