TCM Leads Up to DALLAS Premiere with Top 10 Texas Movies List

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is celebrating this week's premiere of TNT's all-new series Dallas by unveiling a 10-gallon list of the Top 10 Texas Movies. Exemplifying the best and most distinctive aspects of the state, its culture and its history, the films chosen for TCM's Top 10 Texas Movies list range from Victor Sjöström's The Wind (1928), one of the last great silent films, to Joel & Ethan Coen's unforgettable Best Picture Oscar(R) winner, No Country for Old Men (2007). The list also includes popular classics, like Red River (1948), Giant (1956) and The Alamo (1960); powerful dramas like Written on the Wind (1956), The Last Picture Show (1971) and Lone Star (1996); and contemporary favorites like Dazed and Confused (1993) and Friday Night Lights (2004). An Evening With Marlene: A Tribute to Marlene Dietrich the Actress, the Music, the Desire will be performed for three nights only at Davenport's, 1383 N. Academy, Tony and four-time Emmy Award nominee Bob Balaban; acclaimed 'White Collar' television star Matt Bomer; Emmy Award-winning journalist Campbell Brown; celebrated playwright and gay rights activist Larry Kramer; two-time Academy Award-nominated, multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning, two-time Tony Award-winning actor John Lithgow; Tony Award nominee and Broadway Impact Co-Founder Rory O'Malley; and Emmy Award winner and three-time Golden Globe Award nominee Bradley Whitford will appear in the world premiere of '8' on Broadway, joining the previously announced Anthony Edwards, Morgan Freeman, Cheyenne Jackson, Christine Lahti, Rob Reiner, Yeardley Smith and Marisa Tomei. The production is an unprecedented account of the Federal District Court trial in Perry v. Schwarzenegger (now Perry v.
