The opening night of her four-show run, 'Classical Julie,' was a who's who of the showbiz scene, and included Tyne Daley, Lisa Lampanelli, Charles Busch, James Lecesne, Danny Visconti, Shirley Herz, Peter Bartlett, Dan Butler, Klea Blackhurst, Natalie Douglas and Ed Windels, among many others. On Monday, February 25, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the third annual Broadway Belts for PFF, which raised over $70,000 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. The evening was hosted by Julie Halston, and starred Klea Blackhurst, Linda Lavin, Emily Bergl, Debbie Gravitte, Emma Hunton, Alyssa Paulsen, Robert Creighton, Max von Essen, John McDaniel, and Ed Watts. Bay Street Theatre held its First Annual Honors Benefit last night with some of the biggest names of the stage and screen converging at the Manhattan Penthouse in New York City to honor Joy Behar, AdriAnne Cohen and John Downing, all members of Bay Street's Board of Trustees. Bay Street Theatre announces their First Annual Honors Benefit on Monday, April 30, with a special performance by Liza Minnelli. This spring fundraiser will be held at the Manhattan Penthouse, 80 5th Avenue in NYC beginning at 6 pm. Proceeds support the theatre's year round programming. With honors ranging from the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame to the Tony Awards, Broadway's best performers gathered last night, February 27, to raise awareness of the rare disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and honor the memory of Associated Press theater critic, Michael Kuchwara (today would have been Kuchwara's 65th Birthday). Hosted by award-winning actress and devoted Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) advocate Julie Halston, Broadway Belts for PFF! returned to Birdland in New York City for a second successful year.
