Only Make Believe, the New York City and newly, Washington D.C., based non-profit organization that brings laughter and imagination to children suffering from chronic illnesses and disabilities will be hosting their first ever SPiN OUT OF SPRING event, an extravaganza for young professionals and the young at heart on May 3rd at SPiN: NYC from 7:00pm-9:30pm. The evening will include a ping-pong tournament, music, complimentary beer/wine, silent auctions, special guests, and more! Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz,and Rafe Spall will star on Broadway in Harold Pinter's BETRAYAL, directed by ten-time Tony Award-winner Mike Nichols. BETRAYAL will begin performances on Tuesday, October 1 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Opening night is Sunday, November 3. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave will star in the world premiere of Eisenberg's The Revisionist, directed by Kip Fagan, which begins its limited run on Wednesday, February 6 and opens Thursday, February 21 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre is thrilled to present Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful" in spectacular Disney Digital 3D and Dolby Atmos, it was announced today by Lylle Breier, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Special Events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. "Oz The Great and Powerful" will have a special advance screening for the public, with prizes, on Thursday, March 7 at 8:30 pm (doors open at 8 pm); the El Capitan engagement of "Oz The Great and Powerful" is through April 30. The film, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved wizard character. El Capitan guests will also get to see an exclusive display of costumes from the movie. (more...)

It seems that OZ's magic is just slightly more powerful than BURT WONDERSTONE's wonky slight-of-hand. Sam Raimi's fantasy adventure, a prequel to the hit film, THE WIZARD OF OZ, starring James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams, took in an additional $42.2 million during its second weekend, bumping its two-week total to just over $145 million.
