Main Street Theater, Stages Repertory Theatre, and Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company, in connection with Sin Muros: A Latinx Theater Festival at Stages, present Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Quiara Alegría Hudes' Elliot Trilogy. While all are stand-alone plays, they follow the story of Elliot and his mother across the wars in which they served and through their lives as they strive for peace and connection. The trilogy revolves around Elliot Ortiz, a Puerto Rican Marine veteran from Philadelphia. Hudes told American Theatre Magazine that Elliot's story is 'both quintessentially American and a great representation of the Puerto Rican experience, including the rough patches and demons [Elliot] has had to survive to become stable and successful.' Elliot is based on her own cousin of the same name.

Actor's Rep in West Palm Beach presents the South Florida premier of a?oeWater by the Spoonfula??, a Pulitzer Prize winning play by Quiara Alegría Hudes.

Celebrated playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes, is best known for writing the book for the musical In The Heights. Her play Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue was a finalist for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, also winning the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play Water by the Spoonful.

Teatro Paraguas presents Elliot: A Soldier's Fugue, written by playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes and directed by Alix Hudson. It is the lyrical and moving first play of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Elliot Trilogy.

Ironweed Productions presents Water by the Spoonful by Quiara Alegría Hudes as part of a collaboration with Teatro Paraguas and the Santa Fe Playhouse to bring her three-play cycle, The Elliot Trilogy, to Santa Fe. Ironweed's production, directed by Valli Marie Rivera, will run October 3rd through October 20th.

Page Seventy-Three Productions announced today that the 2018 Spring Celebration will honor Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegria Hudes and Page 73 supporters Mary Lee and David Jones. The Spring Celebration will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses Street).

Set to the joyful sounds of traditional Puerto Rican folk music beautifully played onstage by guitarist Nelson Gonzalez, HAPPIEST SONG chronicles a year in the life of two kindred souls as they search for love, meaning and a sense of hope in a quickly changing world. At the dawn of the Arab Spring in an ancient Jordanian town, Elliot, an Iraq War veteran (Peter Pasco), struggles to overcome the traumas of combat by taking on an entirely new and unexpected career: an action-film hero. At the same time, halfway around the world in a cozy North Philadelphia kitchen, his cousin, Yaz (Elisa Bocanegra), takes on a heroic new role of her own as the heart and soul of her crumbling community, providing hot meals and an open door for the needy.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts continues the inaugural season of Broadway Center Stage with In the Heights, Lin-Manuel Miranda's debut Broadway musical with a book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Quiara Alegría Hudes. Quiara Alegria Hudes is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright who wrote the book for the Broadway musical "In the Heights," which received the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, a Tony nomination for Best Book of a Musical and was a 2009 Pulitzer Prize finalist. Her Pulitzer-nominated and winning trilogy of plays known as the "Elliot Trilogy" are now being presented concurrently, giving Los Angeles theatre audiences a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in this exciting playwright's work. ELLIOT, A SOLDIER'S FUGUE, the first in her trilogy of Elliot plays, is being produced by Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre at the same time they are presenting the second play in the trilogy, Hudes' Pulitzer-winning WATER BY THE SPOONFUL at the Mark Taper Forum. The Latino Theater Company will present the final installment of the trilogy with their production of THE HAPPIEST SONG PLAYS LAST at the Los Angeles Theatre Center (LATC) opening later this month.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced complete casting today for the New York premiere of MISS YOU LIKE HELL. With book and lyrics by Quiara Alegr a Hudes and music and lyrics by Erin McKeown, the new musical is directed by Public Theater Resident Director and Founder of Public Works Lear deBessonet, with choreography by Danny Mefford. The musical will begin previews in The Public's Newman Theater on Tuesday, March 20 and run through Sunday, May 6, with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 10.

The search for redemption, humility and one's place in the world continues when the Latino Theater Company presents the final installment of Quiara Alegr a Hudes' acclaimed three-play Elliot cycle. The long-awaited California premiere of The Happiest Song Plays Last, directed by Edward Torres, featuring live music by Grammy Award-winning tres guitar player Nelson Gonz lez, and starring Vaneh Assadourian; Elisa Bocanegra; Kamal Marayati; Peter Pasco; Al Rodrigo; and John Seda-Pitre, opens on Feb. 22 at The Los Angeles Theatre Center. Low-priced previews begin Feb. 17.

Rehearsals have begun for Center Theatre Group's production of Water by the Spoonful by Quiara Alegr a Hudes. The 2012 Pulitzer Prize-winning play will be produced at the Mark Taper Forum January 31 through March 11, 2018. Directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, the opening of Water by the Spoonful is set for February 11.
