WaterTower Theatre to Premiere New Donald Fowler Musical

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced, at a special gathering held at the home of Lynn and Allan McBee, that the Company will produce the world premiere of Donald Fowler's musical Creep...the Very, Very Sad and Unfortunately True and Completely Fabricated Tale of Jack the Ripper. The musical will open WaterTower Theatre's 2015-2016 season on Monday, October 5, 2015. There will be a Gala Preview performance on Sunday, October 4, 2015. Kate Galvin, Associate Producer at the 11th Hour Theatre Company in Philadelphia, will direct.

The Human Race Theatre Company's mission to further the development of new works takes center stage with its summer Festival of New Musicals. For the seventh annual event, Producing Artistic Director Kevin Moore has selected Molly Sweeney: A Musical, an adaptation of Brian Friel's 1994 play by the same name, and created The Songwriter Showcase, a new concert production featuring a collection of songs from musicals in development by Festival alumni and writers new to Human Race audiences.

The Wooster Group has extended their previews of CRY, TROJANS! (Troilus and Cressida) through February 15 at the Performing Garage. The production is a re-working of their half of a 2012 collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company, focusing on the Trojan side of the drama as a pastiche American 'Indian' tribe.

Nigel Redden, director of Lincoln Center Festival today announced the 2014 Festival's line-up, which runs from July 7 through August 16, 2014, with performances by artists and ensembles from 11 countries unfolding in six venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus. These productions join the previously-announced Lincoln Center Festival and Park Avenue Armory co-presentation of Mieczyslaw Weinberg's opera, The Passenger, performed by Houston Grand Opera, directed by David Pountney, and conducted by Patrick Summers.

The legendary choreographer Jacques d'Amboise, founder of the National Dance Institute, will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the McCallum Theatre's 16th Annual Choreography Festival on Saturday, November 9th at 7pm. The Saturday night edition of the Choreography Festival also features eleven choreographers from across the nation who will compete for multiple awards and a paid engagement. An additional division of choreographers will be showcased on Sunday, November 10th at 4pm. The Human Race Theatre Company's commitment to the creation of new works takes center stage with its summer Festival of New Musicals. Producing Artistic Director Kevin Moore has selected two works by artists familiar to Human Race audiences to headline the sixth annual event-The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes and Guarding Gold Street. The productions perform in The Loft Theatre over the course of the three-day festival, the culmination of a two-week-long workshop process in which writers get the chance to further develop their musicals with the help of professional actors, then see the shows performed in staged readings.
