This spring, the students in Site-Specific Directing at Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) have staged theatre all over New York City: from St. Marks Church, to Tompkins Square Park, Central Park, and more. The directors concluded their class this past week by fully producing Chekhov on the Hudson - six short Chekhov adaptations near the Hudson River. FOOD AND FADWA Begins Previews at New York Theatre Workshop Tonight, 5/18

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo and Noor Theatre Artistic Director Lameece Isaaq, Executive Director Maha Chehlaoui, and Producing Director Nancy Vitale have announced that the world premiere of Food and Fadwa, written by Lameece Issaq and Jacob Kader, and directed by Shana Gold, begins performances tonight, Friday, May 18, 2012, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. The opening night is scheduled for Thursday, June 7. Food and Fadwa is a co-production with Noor Theatre, a company-in-residence at New York Theatre Workshop. ( more...)

Tony Award nominee Daniel Davis, best known for his recent NYC roles in Classic Stages The Cherry Orchard, Lincoln Centers The Invention of Love, and the 2004 Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, as well as six seasons as Niles the Butler on TVs The Nanny, plays Prospero. 7TH MONARCH, Featuring Michael Rupert, Begins Rehearsals

Rehearsals begin today, May 15th for 7th MONARCH, a new play by Jim Henry, featuring Tony Award winner Michael Rupert. The Off-Broadway premiere of 7th MONARCH is set to play a limited engagement at Theatre Rows Acorn Theatre June 12th through September 9th. Opening night is Sunday, June 24th. In addition to Michael Rupert, the cast of 7th MONARCH features Michael Cullen, Gretchen Hall, Leslie Hendrix and Matthew Humphreys, under the direction of Scott C. Embler. ( more...)

Horn, Executive Director) and Morton Wolkowitz (Stomp,The Unexpected Man) will present the Off-Broadway premiere of Miracle On South Division Street, by Tom Dudzick, directed by Joe Brancato.
