TCG Books Releases Chekhov's Three Sisters & Woolf's Orlando: Two Renderings for the Stage by Sarah Ruhl

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the publication of Sarah Ruhl'sChekhov's Three Sisters & Woolf's Orlando: Two Renderings for the Stage which includes an introduction by the author. The two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist (The Clean House; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play) offers two new dramatic renderings for the stage. Ruhl's version of Three Sisters was commissioned by, and premiered in 2009 at, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Orlando was commissioned by, and premiered in 1998 at, the Piven Theatre Workshop, before receiving its NYC premiere in 2010 at Classic Stage Company. On Monday, May 13 Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for Theatre honored Ruth and Stephen Hendel and Ming Cho Lee at their Gala Evening. The evening was held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation (172 Norfolk Street) in New York City, cocktails started at 6pm and dinner started at 7pm. Jessica Hecht was the emcee of the evening; the Gala co-chairs were playwright Lydia R. Diamond and interior designer Jasmine M. Keller. The Gala honorary chairs were Anne Kaufman, Obie award-winning director; Nelle Nugent, Broadway producer; Judith O. Rubin, chairman of the board of Playwrights Horizons; and Liz Smith, gossip columnist. The event hosted 200 guests and surpassed its financial goal. Scroll down for photos from the gala! (more...)

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents the national tour of Roundabout Theatre Company's Anything Goes in the Kennedy Center Opera House from June 11 to July 7, 2013. Winner of the 2011 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, Roundabout Theatre Company's Anything Goes sails direct from Broadway under the direction of Kathleen Marshall, who won the 2011 Tony Award for Best Choreography. The Lortel Awards were handed out on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at NYU Skirball Center, hosted by acclaimed stage and screen actors Aasif Mandvi and Maura Tierney.
