THE ADDAMS FAMILY to Make LA Premiere, 6/5-17

Broadway/L.A. today announced that THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a new musical based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will make its L.A. Premiere at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a limited 2 week engagement from June 5 – 17.

Blumenthal Performing Arts Announces The Inaugural Blumey Awards Winners

The first annual Blumenthal Performing Arts High School Musical Theater Awards culminated Sunday, May 20, at a gala award celebration where winners in 13 categories were announced and nominees for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Musical performed live on stage at the Belk Theater. Pittsburgh CLO Announces Full Casts of Local Productions - Starring Sally Struthers, Hunter Herdlicka, Liz Callaway and More!

Pittsburgh CLO has announced casting for its summer season, which includes six shows, featuring the national tours of Come Fly Away and The Addams Family, and CLO original productions of A Chorus Line, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunset Boulevard. Notably, A CHORUS LINE brings on board a slew of the show's national tour veterans, ANNIE stars Sally Struthers as Miss Hannigan, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF features Broadway's Lewis J. Stadlen, Susan Cella, Hunter Herdlicka, Joel Robertson, Emily Shoolin and Kay Walbye. Liz Callaway and Walter Charles are set to star in SUNSET BOULEVARD. ( more...)

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Presents Chris Laitta’s TV Tunes Sing-A-Long, May 19

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is bringing a Late Night Cabaret favorite to an earlier time this week. Chris Laitta has performed “TV Tunes” all over Western PA for several years now, and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is able to present her for one night only, before the Pittsburgh CLO opens "Girls Only – The Secret Comedy of Women," in which Ms. Laitta will also be featured. James William Productions and Stephenie Skyllas will present Kurt Peterson and Victoria Mallory in "When Everything Was Possible, A Concert (with comments)," for one night only, Sunday April 29th (7:30pm) at New York City Center (131 West 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues), as a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. They will be joined by a thirteen-piece band (Michael Rafter, Music Director), playing new orchestrations by Tony Award winner Jonathan Tunick. Larry Moss directs, with musical staging by Joshua Bergasse (“Smash”). Carolyn Wong will provide lighting design, with sound design by Leon Rothenberg and projection design by Telegraphicmedia. Preliminary round auditions for the 2012 Globe Honors and The Road to the Jimmy™ Awards, an annual competition recognizing excellence in high school theater, will take place on May 5, 6 and 7 at The Old Globe. Presented annually by The Old Globe, and this year in association with Broadway/San Diego – A Nederlander Presentation, final rounds will take place on May 21 at 8:00 p.m. on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe’s Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, and conclude with the announcement of the winners. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced casting for its production of First You Dream: The Music of Kander & Ebb in the Eisenhower Theater June 8 to July 1, 2012. The musical revue will star Heidi Blickenstaff, James Clow, Alan H. Green, Leslie Kritzer, Patina Miller, and Matthew Scott. Originally produced at Signature Theatre in Virginia and co-conceived by David Loud and Eric Schaeffer, the production features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and will be directed by Eric Schaeffer. Jon Kalbfleisch will conduct the 22-piece Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. Press opening night is Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. ( more...)
