2013 Tribeca Film Festival Announces Attendance by BWW News Desk - Apr 29, 2013
The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, and presented by American Express, today announced that more than 450,000 people attended screenings, panels, talks and free community events - including the Tribeca Drive-In series, Family Festival Street Fair, Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day, as well as the Storyscapes installation at the Bombay Sapphire House of Imagination, the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards and the Tribeca Film Institute Interactive Day - during the Festival's 12th edition. Tickets are on sale now for Lincoln Center's 22nd season of Midsummer Night Swing which will take place every Tuesday through Saturday, June 29-July 17 (except July 13, which will be replaced with a night of dancing on Monday, July 12th). The program will take place in Swing's home, Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park, on West 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. (more...)

The noise coming from Damrosch Park is the roar of dancing feet as Midsummer Night Swing draws to a thunderous close with Week Three. Afrobeat star Femi Kuti & The Positive Force takes over on July 12th, with the associate choreographer from FELA! sweating out the relentless beats and a pre-show DJ set by Jump n' Funk's Rich Medina with Sahr from the cast of FELA! On July 14th songstress Catherine Russell and Cat & The Hounds Swing Band takes over, with a bluesy, jazz-tinged night of swing. (more...)

Barefoot Theatre's 70/70 Project Concludes with UNEXPECTED TENDERNESS, 3/31 by BWW News Desk - Mar 31, 2010
Barefoot Theatre Company will present the closing event of the 70/70 Project, a yearlong, worldwide festival showcasing 70 plays by the soon-to-be 71-year-old playwright. The celebration features a reading of Unexpected Tenderness, one of Horovitz's most personal plays, live music, a surprise guest host and more. This special evening will take place at the Bleecker Street Theatre (45 Bleecker between Lafayette and Mott streets) on Wednesday, March 31st, 2010. Cocktail hour is at 7pm; curtain rises at 8. Bway Thea Project Summer Musical Theatre Arts Education Program by Beau Higgins - Jun 28, 2009
The festival will include performances by the faculty and students, as well as seminars by faculty members including Jed Bernstein and Dave Clemmons. Workshops taking place during the project will also be featured including directors such as Frank Wildhorn, David Loud and Christopher D'Amboise.
