This past Sunday, London bid farewell to the triumphant athletes who gave it their all during the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Peter Karrie, best known for his portrayal of the title role in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, The Phantom of the Opera, lead the nationwide Bandstand Marathon with the Abergavenny Borough Band performing the Brit award-winning band Coldplay hit 'Viva La Vida'. Peter Karrie to Perform at London 2012 Paralympic Closing Ceremony, Sept 9

As London bids farewell to the London 2012 Paralympic Games, a spectacular Closing Ceremony celebrating the achievements of the athletes will take place on on Sunday September 9th at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, East London. Peter Karrie, best known for his portrayal of the title role in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, The Phantom of the Opera, will lead the nationwide Bandstand Marathon with Abergavenny Band before Grammy and Brit award-winning band Coldplay take stage in the ceremony named 'The Festival of Flame' that will see the official handover to the 2016 host city Rio de Janeiro. A cast of almost 2,000 will participate in this amazing event. (more...)

Peter Karrie represented the United Kingdom at the 33rd Annual Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, the world's largest annual indoor show, in Halifax, NS, Canada this past week. The event celebrated Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, commemorated the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and paid tribute to the loss of the RMS Titanic and the role Halifax played in the disaster in 1912. Karrie was joined joined by fellow Canadian and soprano, Brenna Conrad. Known as the world's most popular Phantom, Karrie has performed the role over 2,700 times around the world in Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. See photos of Karrie performing below! (more...)

The Thorn Birds - which began life as Colleen McCullough's multi-million copy best selling 1977 novel and went on to become one of the most successful TV mini-series of the 1980s - deals with the clash between passionate love and faithful duty to God. Anyone who finds the courage to go to see the new musical version by Ms. McCullough and German classical composer Gloria Bruni, currently in the early stages of its world premiere tour at the Swansea Grand Theatre, may well wonder that if God exists why would he allow such mindless nonsense to be presented to them.
