Have you ever watched a movie so vile, putrid, and tasteless you couldn't help but love it? Maybe you've caught a film on late night TV that was so bad, you weren't able to stop watching it? Or perhaps your cinephile friend brought a movie to the party that made everyone squeal with glee, cringe with disgust, and laugh out loud at the sheer audacity of it. Well, you very well might have seen a Troma film. And the man behind this madness was Lloyd Kaufman, and he is coming to Seacoast Repertory Theatre to discuss his films Today March 20th, 2013 as part of The Rep's Red Light Series Troma- Fest 2013. Set during the eight years of an Obama administration, when idealism and forgiveness may not be all they seem, the play opens at The Arts Theatre in January 2013. BWW Reviews: THE HOBBIT Goes To The Theatre And Back Again by Harmony Wheeler - Feb 04, 2013
Some time last year, Playhouse Merced christened its 2012-2012 season "There and Back Again." Of course, the title could describe the journey any show takes over the course of two hours. But it seems appropriate that the chosen name should find its base in the play version of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit," for Merced's production, now playing weekends through February 17, displays some of the company's finest actors and scenic and lighting design. The rarely performed story easily promises those who miss it plenty of reason to look back and wish, "If I only I had gone there and back again." (more...)

LES MIS Surpasses $100M at Box Office; TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D Takes Weekend by Movies News Desk - Jan 06, 2013
Tom Hooper's big screen adaptation of LES MISERABLES has now officially surpassed the $100 million mark this weekend (Jan. 4-6). It is now the seventh most-profitable musical since 1974. TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D claimed the weekend box office with $23 million, LES MIS placed at number four. (more...)
