On May 8, The Library of Congress kicked off a series of events honoring Grammy- and Academy-Award-winning songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David, recipients of the 2012 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, culminating a special tribute delivered by President Barack Obama. The prize commemorates George and Ira Gershwin, the legendary American songwriting team whose extensive collection resides in the Library of Congress.

Rounding out the disc are thoughtful covers of Neil Sedakas Breaking Up is Hard to Do, and Connie Francis, Whos Sorry Now. The VIP musical wine reception on Thurs., October 20, 2011, hosted by the ONE Campaign at the Embassy of New Zealand in Washington, D.C. for the USO and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, was a triumphant success. This was the first time that the ONE Campaign teamed up with Irish Tenor Anthony Kearns for the USO, and the second time the New Zealand Embassy hosted Kearns for a military benefit.
