Franklin Performing Arts Company Hosts Culinary Cabaret Tonight

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) presents Culinary Cabaret tonight, March 8, from 7-10 p.m. at Clarke, The Ultimate Kitchen Resource and Culinary Center, 393 Fortune Boulevard in Milford. The evening features inspired cuisine and creative cooking demonstrations by area chefs and culinarians, along with wine tastings, a silent auction, and entertainment by Electric Youth and FPAC special guest artists. Culinary Cabaret supports Electric Youth, an elite ensemble of talented singer-dancers, and their 2013 Asia Tour with performances in Hong Kong. (more...)

Jackson & Stewart Return to IN THE HEIGHTS for Final Weeks of Run in Dec.

The producers of the 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights are happy to announce that original cast members Christopher Jackson and Seth Stewart will join Lin-Manuel Miranda and return for the musical's final weeks on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). As previously announced In The Heights will play its final Broadway performance Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 7pm, with Seth Stewart re-joining the cast on Monday, December 6, Christopher Jackson re-joining the cast on Monday, December 20, and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda re-joining the cast on Saturday, December 25, 2010. All three original stars will play through the final performance on Sunday, January 9, 2011. (more...)

On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. The four legends-to-be united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock jam sessions of all time. (more...)

Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman Willis, the producers of the 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, announced today that Seth Stewart will return to the role of 'Graffiti Pete,' the role he originated, for 4 weeks only from Monday, June 7, through Satuday, July 3, 2010 at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). In addition Corbin Bleu has added a final 3 additional weeks to his critically acclaimed run in In The Heights. Corbin Bleu's final performance is Tuesday, August 17, and beginning August 19, In The Heights will star American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. (more...)
