Kurt Sutton returns to the Manatee Players in his brand new one-man show based on Mark Twain's book "Roughing It" on Saturday March 31 for one show. The curtain time is 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 941-748-5875 or online at www.manateeplayers.com. I Was Drunk That Day is an exploratory (staged) reading of several early crime and suspense stories by Anton Chekhov including 'Conversation of a Drunken Man with a Sober Devil', 'Evildoer', and 'The Wallet'. Assembled, adapted and directed by Darrell Larson, most of the featured stories translated into English for the first time - just last year. (more...)

A FEW GOOD MEN Aiming for 2010 - 2011 Revival; Davenport Produces, Esbjornson Directs by BWW News Desk - Jan 26, 2010
The New York Times is reporting that Producer Ken Davenport (Oleanna, 13, Altar Boyz, Awesome 80s Prom) is behind a new stage revival of Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men. He, alongside director David Esbjornson (The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?) are in the process of seeking out a lead to star as Lt. Daniel Kaffee in the production in a 2010-2011 revival on Broadway. This production will be the first revival since 1991, when it played the Music Box Theatre. Tom Hulce originated the role on stage in 1989. Tom Cruise famously took the role to the silver screen in 1991. (more...)
