DTF to Stage Reading of Adam Rapp's THE PURPLE LIGHTS OF JOPPA ILLINOIS, 6/25

Dorset Theatre Festival continues its longstanding commitment to New Play Development with an exciting new work by award-winning playwright Adam Rapp. Now in its 6th Season, DTF's New Play Programs have drawn critical and national acclaim, attracting some of the top writers each year to their Writers Retreat and Play Reading Series. "It is exciting that we have begun to attract such a sophisticated and engaged audience for our Reading Series. Brian Anthony Wilson, Tim Daly and More Set for DTF's Upcoming Season

A host of Broadway talent as well as several film and television stars will be appearing on the Dorset Theatre Festival stage this summer. Tim Daly, well known for his work on Wings (NBC) and Private Practice (ABC) will headline in the first production of the season, Theresa Rebeck's The Scene. Joining him will be Geoffrey Arend (ABC's Body of Proof) and well-known NY stage actress Mary Bacon (most recently seen in the Michael John LaChiusa/Sybille Pearson musical Giant as well as on Bway in Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll). They will be joined by newcomer Carolyn Holding (The Philadelphia Story/Chautauqua). Adrienne Campbell-Holt will direct the production. (more...)

In honor of New York Fashion Week, GBK hosted a Luxury Gift and Styling Lounge on September 6th and 7th at the exclusive Empire Hotel steps away from the Fashion Week festivities at Lincoln Center. Celebrity and VIP guests made time between shows to visit the GBK Lounge. Some of this year's guests include: Sherri Shepherd ("The View") Angela Simmons ("Pastry" Shoes / "Run's House"), Katrina Bowden ("30 Rock"), Countess LuAnn de Lesseps ("The Real Housewives New York"), Mark Cuban and the cast of ("Shark Tank"), Gordana Gelhausen, Mondo Guerra, Seth Aaron Henderson, Valerie Magen all from ("Project Runway"), Paul Sparks, HBO's ("Boardwalk Empire") Jennifer Ashton, ABC's ("The Revolution") Tamara Tunie, NBC's( "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit") Olivia Culpo- Miss USA, Leila Lopes- Miss Universe, Jana Kramer CW's ("One Tree Hill"), Nasim Pedrad ("Saturday Night Live") and Fashion Designer Walter Baker who snuck over to the lounge for a little indulgence after his show.
