For the third year in a row, the performers were accompanied by John Hart on guitar, Carmen Intorre on drums and Paul Gill on bass, along with special guest jazz violinist/comedian Aaron Weinstein. Featured this week at 54 BELOW, the new performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, is New York-based singing sensation Hilary Kole. Kole has been hailed as a "musical marvel" by Rex Reed, and having "a glowing voice with something to say" from The New York Times. You may know her from her starring role in the critically acclaimed, off-Broadway hit, Our Sinatra, or as the youngest singer to ever grace the stage of the Rainbow Room. Her shows continue August 16, 17, 18 at 8:30PM and August 17, 18 at 11PM.

According to Deadline.com, New Line Cinema's film version of the smash hit Broadway musical 'Rock of Ages,' is set to hit theatres slightly later than previously announced. The film, which was slated to open in theatres on June 1 will now premiere on June 15. (more...)

Ashley Spencer to Take on 'Sherrie' in ROCK OF AGES, 5/10

Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical ROCK OF AGES have announced that Ashley Spencer (Grease, Priscilla..) will star in the leading role of Sherrie - the "small town girl" who "took the midnight train goin' anywhere" - beginning Thursday, May 10 at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre (220 W 44th Street). Emily Padgett, who has performed the role since November 2011, will play her final performance on Tuesday, May 1. During the interim week, the role will be covered alternately by Katie Webber and Tessa Alves. (more...)
