Theater Talk to Make 2012 Tony Predictions on 5/25

THEATER TALK® presents its annual Tony® Awards predictions with favored panelists Patrick Pacheco of the Los Angeles Times, Michael Musto of The Village Voice, and Jesse Green of New York magazine joining series co-hosts Michael Riedel of the New York Post and producer Susan Haskins for a lively session of agreement and dissension. Tony Predictions 2012 premieres Friday, May 25 (2012) at 1 AM on Thirteen, followed by airings on CUNY TV* Saturday 5/26 (8:30 PM), Sunday 5/27 (12:30 PM) and Monday 5/21 (7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM). Tony Red Carpet Facing Union Picket?

Variety is reporting that due to a logistical decision to move the Tony Awards red carpet across the street from the Beacon theatre, and the hiring of a non-union crew to do so, the Local One union (who will work on the rest of the Awards) is threatening to protest and picket the red carpet. It's being speculated on by the trade paper that a Local One picket could result in Actors Equity members not walking the red carpet for the awards show. (more...)
