Pittsburgh Public Theater is honored to welcome back Ted Pappas to direct Lucas Hnath's Broadway hit, A Doll's House, Part, 2. Ted was The Public's leader for 18 years before retiring last fall.

Azudi Onyejekwe(The Great Comet, Violet) will join Doreen Taylor (Christine Daaein The Phantom of the Opera; Candide; Billboard Top 100 Recording Artist) in Sincerely, Oscar (www.SincerelyOscar.com) a new musical celebrating Broadway's greatest lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein, with book by Ms. Taylor and directed by Dugg McDonough (artistic director, LSU Opera; four seasons as staff stage director for the New York City Opera). Sincerely, Oscar will play Theatre Row - Acorn Theatre (410 W. 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) in a limited engagement, beginning March 27 with opening night set for April 4. Sincerely, Oscar is produced by David Pedemonti.

Over the past hundred years the theater community has celebrated some of the most notable events in Broadway's history at the Friars Club.   Last night the Barrington Stage Co. the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, Ma. under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd held their New York City Benefit in the legendary building where so many legends of the theater community have socialized and entertained each other.   John Rando the famed director was celebrated for his extraordinary talent and his contributions to BSC.  John has directed two of the most popular musicals in BSC history, The Pirates of Penzance and On the Town, which transferred to Broadway and received four Tony Award nominations, including Best Director.  At BSC John also directed The Royal Family of Broadway and Guys and Dolls and on Broadway, he won a Tony Award for his direction of Urinetown, The Musical.

The streets of Pittsfield, (more precisely Barrington Stage Co's Boyd Quinson Mainstage on Union Street) became the streets of 1957 New York City as one of the greatest Broadway Shows of all times, West Side Store had it's opening night performance.  Nowadays you don't have gangs fighting on Pittsfield streets but you do have theater goers fighting to get into the many productions of Barrington Stage Co. and the sold out season at Mr. (Bill) Finn's Cabaret.
