Josh Lamon is truly living his dream. A self-admitted theater geek, Josh has spent the past few years making a name for himself on the boards, most recently in the Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. Originally from San Diego, Josh can currently be seen as crowd favorite Margaret Mead in the First National Tour of the 2009 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical, which continues performances at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts through February 6. Josh recently chatted with BroadwayWorld's Michael Lawrence Quintos about life on tour and offers some inside dish on his HAIR-raising co-stars.

Despite a subdued O.C. audience, this spiritually buoyant new touring production of the 2009 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical revival, HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical still revels in its naughty, raucous fun and its sonically adventurous songs. A delightful hybrid of vaudeville high-jinks, rock concert, art house exhibition, and curiosity theater, this genuinely entertaining show rightly focuses less on its unstructured storyline, but more in its likable cast of characters and the celebratory, almost party-like atmosphere they share with us through music. The tour is currently taking up residence at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through February 6.

Theatre Audiences received a REAL treat when American Idol's (and WICKED Los Angeles Alum) Adam Lambert and The West Wing's Bradley Whitford visited backstage after a rousing performance of the critically acclaimed and publicly lauded Smash Hit HAIR, currently celebrating its Los Angeles Premiere.

There was some fierce competition out there but the voters have spoken. But since the results were so close, we're going to put in not only the winners but also the 1st and 2nd runners up as well. One of a kind musicals like Hair must be experienced first hand. It's the live, up-close, in-your-face tone that gives the musical its rare fervor. First produced in 1967 by Joe Papp at his Public Theatre, eventually opening on Broadway in 1968, Hair is about the hippie generation of the 60s, whose drugs and flower-power may have been a controversial mishmash then, but now make more sense than ever; the message rings loud and clear: stop the war! There's another message underneath: trust yourself and live the life you want to live, as long as you're not hurting others! Sad to say, 40+ years later, senseless war still rages and most people live by the status quo, even if its stress is so overbearing, it practically kills them. This new touring production, based on the 2009 Tony Award winning revival, is a powerful reminder and a powerhouse winner.

Seattle's Paramount Theatre is currently letting the sun shine in with the national tour of the Tony Award winning revival of the 60's rock musical "Hair". And while I've never been a fan of the show that much before, I can tell you that with this production I left the theater with what I can only describe as a theatrical contact high.

Last night, November 1, Gavin Creel opened his three-week run at Birdland with the help of Hair alumni Cassie Levy, Steel Burkhardt and others. Creel will play his 'Back to New York' show at Birdland for the next 2 Mondays, November 8 and November 15 at 7pm.

Yesterday, July 26, The New York Civil Liberties Union presented their annual Broadway Stands Up for Freedom Concert, supporting the youth programs of the New York Civil Liberties Union. Hosted and musical directed by Seth Rudetsky, the starry line-up of performers includes: Nellie McKay (The Threepenny Opera), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Rebecca Luker (Mary Poppins), J. Robert Spencer (Next to Normal), Kate Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow), Carrie Manolakos (Mamma Mia), De'Adre Aziza (Passing Strange), Erich Bergen (Jersey Boys), Dana Steingold (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Liana Stampur and Clinton Curtis and performers from the cast of Hair and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.

HAIR played its final performance on Broadway on June 27th. The show has announced a national tour which will begin in October.
