Cabrillo Music Theatre has announced their upcoming shows in the 2010 - 2011 season. Cabrillo Music Theatre is an Ovation Award Winner and the Resident Musical Production Company at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, the largest theatre between Los Angeles and San Francisco. For over three decades, Cabrillo has enriched life in Southern California, providing extraordinary performing arts through live musical theatre. Cabrillo Music Theatre's mission is to introduce the musical theatre experience to socially, culturally, economically diverse, and underserved populations of Southern California. Nickelodeon Greenlights New Series from 'Airbender' Creators by TV News Desk - Jul 21, 2010
Nickelodeon, the number one producer of television animation in the world, has greenlit a new series from the creators of the hit animated TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender, it was announced today by Brown Johnson, President, Animation, Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group. The new series The Legend of Korra (working title), from creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will premiere on Nickelodeon in 2011, continuing the evolution of the animated franchise and its mythology. The original series was the inspiration for the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies live-action epic adventure, The Last Airbender, which has already grossed more than $115 million at the box office to date. Kleiser discussed the new 'Grease: Sing-A-Long' ('Now it's slick and revamped and pretty amazing'), his surprise at the film's enduring popularity ('a movie we made as a summertime treat for kids in the '70s has endured with audiences around the world for over 30 years'), and the new songs that were written for the film ('The original finale was a song called ‘All Shook Up,' which didn't really go anywhere, but once I heard ‘You're the One That I Want,' I knew we had something that would really land big'), among other topics. 'Grease Sing-Along,' the sing-along version of the hit movie musical, will be released to select theatres on July 8. These will include theatres in Ocala, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, Seattle, Miami, San Diego, Austin, and Atlanta.
