Mary Poppins is set to fly over the rooftops of London and onto the stage at Stages Theatre Company this holiday season! Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins JR., based on the classic P.L. Travers stories and the Walt Disney film, is playing at Stages Theatre from November 16 through December 27, 2018.

San Francisco Playhouse celebrates the magic of the holiday season with the hit Broadway musical Mary Poppins. Susi Damilano will direct the Playhouse production, with music direction by Katie Coleman and choreography by Kimberly Richards.

Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's "Mary Poppins" delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The incomparable 'Mary Poppins' returns to Bloomington's The Artistry Theater on the winds of her iconic character's umbrella. Penned as a collection of eight stories beginning in the 1934, Walt Disney wrangled the rights from author PL Travers for their 1964 film. One of the studios crowning glories in its film history, the movie garnered eight academy awards. The Broadway adaptation, on view at Artistry, differs from the film featuring music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman from a play created by Julian Fellows. Director Joel Sass and Music Director Anita Ruth along with Choreographer Joe Chavala produced a Broadway worthy musical at the Bloomington Arts Center, which the lyrics will aptly: 'Stretch your mind into the fantastic, dreams are made of strong elastic.'

On Sunday, October 14th at 4:00pm in Centennial Hall at The Haverford School the actors of Acting Without Boundaries (AWB) will perform Mary Poppins, the Broadway Musical Directed by Neill Hartley and Musical Director, Maria Ceferatti.

Despite some opening night technical problems, inconsistent sound issues and a lack of confidence performing Elizabeth Krebs' choreography, Mary Poppins - the musical theater version of the Disney film that was inspired by P.L. Travers' stories which, in turn, were loosely inspired by her own childhood adventures - opened to a rousing ovation from the audience at Smyrna's Springhouse Theatre Company Friday night.

Actress Crystal Kurek returns to a role some contend she was destined from birth to play, as she stars as the eponymous "practically perfect" nanny in Disney and Cameron Macintosh's Mary Poppins, opening this Friday night at Springhouse Theater in Smyrna. Drury Lane Theatre announces the complete lineup of its 20192020 season, including two award-winning Regional Theatre premieres-the imaginative Matilda, based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl, and the beautifully captivating Gershwin musical An American in Paris. The thrilling season also includes the revival of the exhilarating The Color Purple, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel; the magical musical for all ages Mary Poppins; and Agatha Christie's edge-of-your-seat murder mystery And Then There Were None. The season runs April 2018-March 2019 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace.

MARY POPPINS produced by Fremont Street Theater Company, opens Friday, September 7 - Sunday, September 16, at Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood Street, Palatine, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.

P. L. Travers Mary Poppins magical nanny character was first published in 1934 and resulted in a series of eight children's books that ended in 1988. MARY POPPINS is a stage musical that uses the most iconic songs of the Sherman Brothers, with additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, and a script by Julian Fellowes. The musical is a hybrid of Travers children's books and the 1964 Disney film, which fuses various elements from the two. I have some serious issues with the script, which I intend to discuss, but director Ron Watson and his talented cadre of technical artists produce pure 60's Disney magic.

Artistic Director Allen MacInnis and Executive Director Nancy J. Webster are delighted to reveal the 2018/19 playbill at Young People's Theatre (YPT). The new season will feature eight outstanding shows on two stages, including two world premieres, a Broadway musical and a timely adaptation of a Greek classic. This year YPT is exploring the notion of kids fixing things for themselves, and ultimately making change in their world.
