Seven is the perfect number. Thursday night marked my seventh time seeing the hit musical Wicked. Heres the countdown: Twice in San Francisco in high school, once in New York as a high school graduation present, three times in Chicago to see a family friend in the cast, and, now, once in Sacramento where the mind blowing show as so many have called it plays through June 17 at the Community Center Theater. This year's top booths were WICKED, Broadway Beat, TDF, American Idiot, The Phantom of the Opera, United Scenic Artists Local 829, Maddie's Corner, Next to Normal, The Addams Family, Triton Gallery and Billy Elliot!

Theatre and TV stars are coming out to support Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS at the 24TH ANNUAL Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction to be held on Sunday, September 26 from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM in Shubert Alley (Shubert Alley & West 44th Street).

SHREK's Christopher Sieber Leads The New Group's THE KID in April

The New York Times is reporting that Shrek vet Christopher Sieber will star as sex columnist Dan Savage in The New Group's production of The Kid, a new musical based on Dan Savage's book The Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant. The production will run as the the third show of The New Group's 2009 - 2010 season, however, no exact production dates have been announced. Star-Studded 'DEFYING INEQUALITY' Benefit Concert Soars at Gershwin 2/23

On Monday evening, February 23 at 8:00pm, the Broadway community (and beyond) is coming together for one of the most important events of the year - Defying Inequality: The Broadway Concert -- A Celebrity Benefit for Equal Rights, a one-night only concert event at the Gershwin Theatre
(222 W. 51st Street). The special star-studded evening will feature performers from stage & screen - from Saturday Night Live to Spring Awakening - all to benefit Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force. 100% of the profits from this spectacular event will be donated directly to Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force, five charitable organizations working to promote equality and protect civil rights for the gay and lesbian community. Defying Inequality: The Broadway Concert, A Celebrity Benefit for Equal Rights, is produced by 4Good Productions, the same presenters of the 2005 event Broadway's Celebrity Benefit for Hurricane Relief at the Gershwin Theatre.
