History Theatre presents the regional premiere of a new musical about the lives and works of St. Paul's original "it" couple, F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. As glittering emblems of the Jazz Age, their romance reflected the era during which they lived: highs and lows, boom and bust, a thrilling rise and a devastating crash. This Side of Paradise, which premiered off-Broadway in 2010, is seen from the point of view of Zelda at the age of 39, looking back on her life with Scott using music and dance to capture both the joy of their romance and their struggles for artistic identity and fame. Interference Arts' IT IS SHE WHO I SEE Begins 11/15

It is She Who I See is the inaugural production of the new multimedia performance company Interference Arts. In this show, Artistic Director Craig Harris draws the audience into an innovative immersive multimedia environment. The production creates a rich visual environment designed by Jim Peitzman that integrates remarkable digital illustrations by artist Candy Kuehn, projected on a series of scrims hung around the stage. The mood created by these projections is enhanced with lighting design by Mike Grogan, a 2012 Ivey Award winner. After the formal performance, audiences are invited to interact with others in the immersive environment, in whatever "character" the experience encourages. (more...)

The show will feature Jim Detmar as Vince Lombardi and Norah Long as Marie Lombardi, and promises to be a funny and passionate look at an American icon. It's been 18 years since I DO! I DO! closed after a 22.5 year run. That production held the world record for being the longest running musical with its original cast, also easily making it the most popular musical production in Chanhassen Dinner Theatres' history. I DO! I DO! will open September 24th to two weeks of previews with a grand opening on Friday, October 8th on Chanhassen's Fireside Theatre stage. (more...)

The Guthrie Theater today announced that Sarah Agnew (currently appearing as Beatrice in Yale Rep's production of The Servant of Two Masters) will lead the cast of Rebecca Gilman's Dollhouse, playing Nora in a modern-day critique of middle-class life in an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's groundbreaking and controversial masterpiece A Doll's House (previously seen at the Guthrie in 1996).
