PAPER DOLLS Extends for Two Weeks at the Tricycle Theatre

Jenna Russell Joins Cast of THAT DAY WE SANG at MIF

Multi-award winning actress Jenna Russell will play the role of Enid. Jenna won an Olivier Award and Theatre World Award for her performance as Dot/Marie in Sunday In The Park With George in the West End and on Broadway. She was nominated for a Tony and a Drama Desk Award for the same performance. Most recently she appeared in Aykbourn's Season's Greetings at the National Theatre, and prior to that in the award winning Into the Woods at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park.
Vincent Franklin will play the role of Tubby. Vincent has appeared in all three series of The Thick Of It on the BBC, and has also recently appeared in the TV series Doc Martin and Being Human. Vincent has also appeared in numerous stage productions and is one half of the comedy duo ‘John and Vince'. (more...)

UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG to Close Early on May 21

The Kneehigh Theatre Company will close its West End production of THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG on May 21 instead of the previously announced October 1 closing. The show opened at the Gielgud Theatre on March 22. Directed by Emma Rice, with lyrics translated by Sheldon Harnick, designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, sound by Simon Baker and musical supervision by Nigel Lilley, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is produced in the West End by Daniel Sparrow and Mike Walsh Productions, Curve Leicester and City Lights International in association with BE MY Productions. After the success of Brief Encounter in the West End and on Broadway, Kneehigh's new adaptation of Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand's The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will arrive at the Gielgud Theatre following a limited run at Curve, Leicester. The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will begin previews on 5 March, with press night on 22 March and is booking until 1 October 2011. Directed by Emma Rice, with lyrics translated by Sheldon Harnick, designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, sound by Simon Baker and musical supervision by Nigel Lilley, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will be produced in the West End by Daniel Sparrow and Mike Walsh Productions, Curve Leicester and City Lights International in association with BE MY Productions. The Menier Chocolate Factory's production of the Tony award-winning musical, Sweet Charity, which transferred to the West End in April 2010, will complete its run on 06 November 2010. Matthew White's critically acclaimed production, which originally opened at the Chocolate Factory in November last year, has a cast led by Tamzin Outhwaite, Mark Umbers, Josefina Gabrielle, Tiffany Graves and Paul J Medford.
