Stage and screen stars Brooke Shields and Richard Chamberlain will take on the iconic roles of Chris MacNeil and Father Merrin in playwright John Pielmeiers world premiere of The Exorcist at the Geffen Playhouse. Helmed by acclaimed director John Doyle, who won a Tony Award for his striking reimagining of Sweeney Todd, this stage adaptation of William Peter Blattys famous 1971 novel transforms the unsettling battles of good versus evil, faith versus fact and ego versus ethos into a uniquely theatrical experience as sophisticated as it is suspenseful.

Berkeley Playhouse presents its next TeenStage production, RETURN TO PLANET Z, the sequel to the popular summer 2010 original TeenStage production PLANET Z. Planet Z is a crazy planet where the scenery consists of old stage sets and the population is undead, hungry, and armed. When we last left our heroes, a space-traveling teen and a flesh-eating zombie, their true love had triumphed over the obvious complications. But what happens when their shipmates return to meet their human-zombie child and a new generation of undead presidential candidates?

Last night, March 20, Priscilla Queen of the Desert celebrated the musical's landmark one year anniversary at the Palace Theatre. Following the celebratory performance, Priscilla's half millionth audience member was crowned on stage along with a secret "Oprah-style" prizing moment and a special surprise performance from the cheerleading squad "Cheer New York."

Last night, March 20, Priscilla Queen of the Desert celebrated the musicals landmark one year anniversary at the Palace Theatre before the show with the stars cutting the Priscilla Pink Pie Face Pie from Australia's most celebrated Bakery café Pie Face. Following the celebratory performance, Priscillas half millionth audience member was crowned on stage along with a secret Oprah-style prizing moment and a special surprise performance from the cheerleading squad Cheer New York. Broadway lovers and teddy bear collectors came together on March 18 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill (237 West 42nd Street) for one last time to bid on and bid adieu to museum-quality bears representing legendary theatrical characters and autographed by the stars who made those characters famous.
The cumulative fundraising total for the 15 editions of THE BROADWAY BEARS auctions is a remarkable $2,048,427. The previous fund-raising record was $170,000 set in 2002. ( more...)
