Joe's Pub at The Public will make its debut in Brooklyn as a co-presenter at the second annual Great GoogaMooga Festival in Prospect Park. The three-day outdoor food, drink and music festival is produced by Superfly Presents and will take place Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19, 2013. Closing Aurora Theatre Company's 21st season is the Bay Area Premiere of Neil LaBute's dark, edgy comic drama THIS IS HOW IT GOES, directed by Aurora Theatre Company Artistic Director Tom Ross (A Delicate Balance). Ross helmed LaBute's The Shape of Things, the first LaBute play produced in the Bay Area, in 2003. Featuring Aldo Billingslea (Collapse), Gabriel Marin (Collapse, Jack Goes Boating), and Carrie Paff (A Delicate Balance, Collapse, Betrayal), THIS IS HOW IT GOES presents a one-two punch after LaBute's Fat Pig (staged at Aurora in 2009). Tweaking perspectives of truth and interpretation to broach sharp questions about race, love, and manipulation,THIS IS HOW IT GOES, about which the Chicago Tribune raved "Highly recommended! PigPen Theatre Co. Announces Summer Tour by BWW News Desk - May 06, 2013
Following a successful winter tour of the Northeast and a fall residency at Joe's Pub in NYC, the critically acclaimed, seven-member indie-folk band/theater troupe PigPen Theatre Co. will embark on a tour of headline and festival dates this summer. The group's debut album Bremen is out now, and in celebration of the tour they will record a five-song EP to be released in conjunction with the August 2 Bowery Ballroom show. In between tour dates the guys will spend a week in June in residence at The Orchard Project developing a new full-length theater piece, The Hunter & The Bear, and will also be in residence at the Williamstown Theatre Festival July 8-20 to begin work on the Chicago production of their recent Off-Broadway hit The Old Man and the Old Moon. Tony Award winners Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley will join Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in the limited season repertoire of Harold Pinter's No Man's Land and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, directed by Sean Mathias, on Broadway at the Cort Theatre, 138 West 48th Street, this fall. Performances will begin Saturday, October 26 at 8pm. The official opening is Sunday, November 24, 2013. This limited season will run for 14 weeks only. (more...)

Acerbic comedy and salty satire are in store for The Women's Theatre Project audiences as the well respected company enters into its 11th season and its second year at the Willow Theatre in Boca Raton's Sugar Sand Park. The Lyons will run from December 6th through December 22nd, 2013, and Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins will play February 28th through March 16th, 2014.
