Masterworks Broadway, a label born out of the SONY/BMG merger, has gathered together collection of these 'sleeper' hits sung by some of the theater's most talented performers in its new release, 'Broadway Scene Stealers,' featuring songs sung by supporting characters in musicals.

Ann Hampton Callaway is a TONY-nominated singer/songwriter/actress who has won an unprecedented number of MAC awards for her cabaret act. This past weekend, she performed at the 2006 Tanglewood Jazz Festival as part of a tribute to Johnny Mercer.

Fame is such a fleeting thing, unless of course you're Martin Short! Short has been making people laugh for over 30 years, and the opening Thursday night (June 15th) of his show FAME BECOMES ME finds him in top form. Though the performance could use a bit of tightening in the first half, it delivers the goods making for an entertaining albeit lightweight evening of theatre. * * * 1/2 (out of 5)
