TADA! Youth Theater Set for DANCE-A-THON & Theatre Camps this Summer

TADA! YOUTH THEATER, the Drama Desk and Coming Up Taller Award-winning organization, is gearing up for a hot summer in the city. First is the June 2nd kid-fueled Dance-A-Thon, then two 1-Day Camps on June 7 and July 2 and new for 2012 2-week mini camps for ages 4 and 5, as well as, week-long camps for ages 6-14. ( more...)

Dance Theatre Piece POOR LIZA Comes to New York and Boston in June

One of Russias most famous actressses, Chulpan Khamatova, along with Bolshoi Theater soloist Andrei Merkuriev, will play for audiences in New York and Boston with POOR LIZA, based on the novel by Nikolay Karamzin. This envelope-pushing choreographed theatrical performance was dreamt up by lauded choreographer Alla Sigalova and composer Leonid Desyatnikov, and produced by Russias Theatre of Nations. Nobby Clark's Photography Exhibition Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Northern Broadsides, May 26

To coincide with the 20th anniversary celebrations for the Halifax-based Northern Broadsides Theatre Company, the renowned Dean Clough Galleries has devoted its premiere exhibition space to a large-scale photography show by the highly acclaimed photographer Nobby Clark. 'Northern Broadsides - 20 years- photography by Nobby Clark' will run in Dean Clough's Crossley gallery from 26 May-16 September. ( more...)

YOUTH THEATER presents, in conjunction with the now-playing world premiere musical UP TO YOU, ITS UP TO YOU, a open forum event on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 11am to discuss bullying through leadership, moderated by Miss New York Kaitlin Monte and featuring a special opening number from BROADWAY SINGS FOR PRIDE (http://bwaypride.org). The event is free, and parents and kids are especially encouraged to attend. The Summer Season at the Finborough Theatre continues with rediscoveries of EVENTS WHILE GUARDING THE BOFORS GUN and MERRIE ENGLAND. Commemorating the tenth anniversary of the death of playwright John McGrath, and unseen in a professional production in London since 1966, John McGraths Events While Guarding The Bofors Gun opens at the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre for a limited four-week season from Tuesday, 22 May 2012 directed by Robert Hastie. Merrie England plays at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of nine Sunday and Monday evening performances and Tuesday matinees, opening on Sunday, 27 May 2012. ( more...)

The Finborough Theatre presents the first UK production in nearly 40 years of Trevor Griffiths' All Good Men, last seen at the Young Vic in a production by the National Theatre in 1975, and opening at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of eight Sunday and Monday evening performances on Sunday, 29 April 2012. Three Europeans are isolated on the construction site of a western company in the heart of Africa, surrounded by barbed wire fences. High up on the watchtowers above, African security guards call out in the night to one another in throat songs to keep awake. As evening falls, a mysterious man, Alboury, penetrates the camp. When it emerges that he has come to demand the body of his brother who died that day in unknown circumstances, the ensuing action leads to a disturbing twist of events. ( more...)

musical theater. Create and perform a mini-musical...in just five days
with Professional Teaching Artists directing scenes and musical numbers from original TADA! musicals and Broadway/Off-Broadway shows. Each week has a new theme
to "Gleek" Out! and sure to be a lifetime of memories for the performers. New this summer, TADA! will also offer a two-week half-day program for kids ages 4-5 in both July and August, giving even younger singers and dancers the chance to participate. And all July campers will attend a performance of TADA!s show Everything About School (Almost) for free. ( more...)
