Director Joss Whedon's adaptation of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING will make its premiere on the festival circuit at this year's Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). A modern version of Shakespeare's classic comedy, the movie was filmed in just 12 days entirely on location in Santa Monica and features a combined cast of Shakespeare vets and others completely new to the form. Opera Exposures will present its first 2012 spiritual music recital on Sunday, April 22, at 3 PM at Saint Mark's Church, Second Avenue and 10th Street in Manhattan. Sopranos Natalie Bergeron, Krysty Swann and Cheryl Warfield will join tenor George Cornelius and Baritone Anthony Turner. JoNathan Kelly will be at the piano. The recital will be followed by a Reception and Dance with the cast. Tickets are $50 and $40 and include Reception and Dance Party with a live DJ immediately following the recital. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 917/402-8144 or visiting the Opera Exposures official website at www.operaexposures.org. They may also be purchased at the door. (more...)

After it's highly successful staging in NYC in June 2010, Allan Buchman has announced the West Coast debut of Twin Spirits on Tuesday, February 15th at the Mark Taper Forum at the Music Center of Los Angeles County. Presented by Culture Project, Sting and Trudie Styler will reprise their roles as classical composer Robert and his wife, pianist Clara Schumann; reading the couple's poignant letters with accompaniment from a six-member ensemble of classical musicians. A portion of the evening's proceeds will be used to support the ongoing work of Culture Project, the Royal Opera House and Mustardseed Arts Trust. (more...)

On Sunday, February 6 at 3 pm, Opera Exposures will offer a program entitled 'The Elizabeth Taylor Greenfield Story' in the Chapel of St. Bartholomew's Church. Born a slave in 1819 in Natchez, Mississippi, Elizabeth Taylor Greenfield would become known as 'The Black Swan,' the first African-American singer to gain recognition in the United States and Europe. She made her New York City debut in 1853 at Metropolitan Hall drawing an audience of over 4,000 (more...)
