Ogunquit Playhouse is growing its educational initiatives by launching the Arts Academy. Already an integral component of the Playhouse's mission, the educational initiatives currently in place will be greatly expanded to build upon the legacy left by founder Walter Hartwig, a strong proponent of community theater with a passion for teaching theater craft to aspiring professionals.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) adds a decidedly contemporary twist to its programming with “CURRENT: Equilibrium,” a visually and aurally immersive program of electro-acoustic classical music, including three world premieres, curated by composer/Artistic Advisor Derrick Skye and led by guest conductor Vincent Womack, on Sunday, April 10, 2022, 5 pm, at Boomtown Brewery in downtown Los Angeles.

Ogunquit Playhouse is launching the Arts Academy program with the belief that theater is a profound tool for students to not only exercise their imagination but to discover their innate skill set.

Art House Productions has announced their first audio play, Black Tom Island by Martin Casella available starting Monday, January 18 at 10:00am EST. A free virtual panel discussion about the actual event featuring historians and the play's creative team will take place on Sunday, February 7 at 3:00pm EST on Zoom.

Independent Filmmaker Day will be held virtually on Zoom on November 18-19, 2020. The Ogunquit Playhouse has announced an exciting lineup of shows for its 88th season that includes the Northeast regional premiere of the hilarious dark comedy The War of the Roses, a new play based on the novel by Warren Adler and helmed by Tony Award-winner Jason Alexander, and the world premiere of the funny and heartwarming musical adaptation of Mr. Holland's Opus, helmed by Tony Award-winner BD Wong. The season opens with the high-energy musical sensation Dirty Dancing -The Classic Story on Stage based on the smash-hit film, then continues with a stunning revival of the Tony Award-winning, all-Gershwin, tap dancing extravaganza Crazy for You, and the exhilarating Broadway hit musical based on the lives of Grammy Award-winning husband-and-wife team Gloria and Emilio Estefan, On Your Feet!. The season will stretch to the holidays once again with the return of the hit show White Christmas in collaboration with The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

ABC embraces the season with the upcoming original holiday movie a?oeSame Time, Next Christmas,a?? which premieres on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST. The soon-to-be fan-favorite holiday film will also rebroadcast on ABC on Monday, Dec. 23, at 8:00-10:00 p.m. EST, as well as on Freeform as part of their a?oe25 Days of Christmasa?? programming.
