Ghostlight Records will present the New Broadway Cast Recording for Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedyPIPPIN with a digital release on June 4 and the CD in stores on July 9. The acclaimed revival has been hailed as 'astonishing' by The New York Times, 'amazing and eye-popping' byEntertainment Weekly and 'the season's best musical, jazz hands down' by USA Today. The show, which was nominated for 10 Tony Awards including 'Best Musical Revival,' is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). The album is co-produced by composer Stephen Schwartz and Kurt Deutsch with Howard and Janet Kagan serving as executive producers. Producers Barry & Fran Weissler and Howard & Janet Kagan have just announced that the critically acclaimed and Tony-nominated Broadway musical PIPPIN will launch a US national tour in September 2014, at the Buell Theatre in Denver, CO. Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy PIPPIN is directed by Diane Paulus featuring choreography by Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers). Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy Pippin, which is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street), on June 4 (digitally) and July 9 (in stores). Ghostlight Records will release the New Broadway Cast Recording for Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy PIPPIN, which is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) and opens on Thursday, April 25. The cast will record the album on April 29. The album will be release in June 2013 (date to be announced) and will feature material from the show never previously recorded. PIPPIN Announces General Rush Policy!

The producers of PIPPIN announced today that a limited number of $37.00 rush tickets will be available for purchase in-person at the Music Theatre box office (239 West 45th Street) when it opens at 10am (Noon on Sundays) for that day's performance only. There is a limit of one ticket per person. Tickets are subject to availability and may not be offered at all performances. Cash or Credit is accepted. (more...)

Since my last post we have gotten about a week's worth of previews under our belt. I figured the crowds would settle a bit after those first couple of absolutely wild preview audiences, but it appears the audiences are only getting more enthusiastic as we go! Each crowd is a little different and has its own personality, but they are all incredibly encouraging and vocal which we absolutely love! We are greeted daily at the stage door by smiling fans with posters, playbills, and sharpies in hand waiting for autographs. The support has really been overwhelming, and we could not be more grateful for the love our audiences and fans have already shown us. After all, what is live theater without an audience? Thank you all for spreading the word, for tweeting and posting about us, and most importantly for coming to see the show! (more...)
