Everything's coming up Tonys! Spring has sprung, awards season has begun, and the latter is all that really matters to Broadway fans everywhere. Earlier this week, Katharine McPhee and Leslie Odom Jr. announced the 2018 Tony nominations, celebrating the best of the 2017-18 theatre season (and what a season it's been!). Leading the pack were Mean Girls and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical with 12 nominations, followed by Angels in America, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel andThe Band's Visit with 11 and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two with 10. The Tony Awards Administration Committee has been meeting all year to discuss the eligibility of the 2017-18 Broadway productions all leading up to Tuesdays big announcement... the Tony nominations.

New York City's Drama Desk-nominated Parallel Exit returns to the Voorhees Theatre as part of the New York City College of Technology's Theatreworks Program, to present the world premiere of THE FINAL REEL, from March 22-24, 2018 at 8:00pm each night, with an additional 2:00pm matinee on March 24, at the Voorhees Theatre, 186 Jay Street, Brooklyn. Tickets are $20 general admission ($15 children/student/senior) and are available online at finalreel.brownpapertickets.com.

Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of ten Broadway productions for the 2018 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2017-2018 season to decide the eligibility for the 72nd Annual Tony Awards.

Feel free to lavish director Tina Landau with a flood of praise for spinning seaweed into gold with SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, the hyperactive new musical based on the long-running Nickelodeon animated series that brings a cartoon vaudeville to the famed Palace Theatre.

Following The New Group's BURIED CHILD live stream this past Wednesday, BroadwayHD will present Signature Theatre's special return engagement of OLD HATS, created and performed by Bill Irwin and David Shiner, with music and lyrics by and featuring Shaina Taub, and directed by Tina Landau, this Saturday, April 2, at 8:00 PM EDT. 

The singer-songwriter's music and performance complement Bill Irwin and David Shiner's baggy pants silliness in this revival of the side-splitting show.

Signature Theatre presents a special return engagement of Old Hats, created and performed by Bill Irwin and David Shiner, with music and lyrics by and featuring Shaina Taub, directed by Tina Landau. The production officially opened last night, February 18, and will now play an extended run through April 3, 2016 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).
