Museum of the Moving Image will present an eighteen-film screening series celebrating music movies on the big screen, in conjunction with its current exhibition Spectacle: The Music Video. Taking its title from the title card at the beginning of Martin Scorsese's The Last Waltz-'This film should be played loud!'-the series Play This Movie Loud! opens today, May 4, and continues through June 9, 2013. 'From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert For Sandy Hook' took place yesterday, January 28, 2013, at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Connecticut. The evening was a concert of love and healing for the Newtown community from the composers, musicians and more than 100 stars of Broadway together with over 100 students from several Newtown dance groups and the Newtown High School Chamber Choir. All proceeds and donations go directly to United Way of Western Connecticut's Sandy Hook School Support Fund. (more...)

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform Hairspray: In Concert! on Thursday, January 24 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore, and at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall today, January 25 at 8 p.m., on Saturday, January 26 at 3 p.m. & 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 27 at 3 p.m. (more...)
