New Zealand-based Ren Lunicke is Redmond, WA born, Canadian trained, and New Zealand based. Raised in the bible belt outskirts of King County and San Juan Islands County, they had a late exposure to secularism, coming to adulthood in neighboring B.C., Canada. Years later, in a "same-sex" Canada-approved marriage, they moved to Seattle for the first time, only to go through one of the first legal same-sex divorces right after U.S. federal recognition was granted. Post-divorce, they went on another journey through gender and sexual diversity leading them to settle in New Zealand.

Adelaide's award winning Restless Dance Theatre will present 20 performances of its acclaimed 2017 Adelaide Festival production Intimate Space at the Hilton Surfers Paradise from 4 to 7 April as part of Bleach* at Festival 2018 within the arts and culture program of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

With Intimate Space, the company has taken a big step, mounting 60, sold out performances.

Contemporary dance lovers have shown their support of the 2017 Adelaide Festival program, with Canadian dance production Betroffenheit selling out its season six weeks before the Festival's opening weekend.

Portland Theater luminary Mary Macdonald-Lewis adds a saucy soupcon of Victorian sexual rebellion to Portland's first-ever festival of sapiosexual storytelling and titillating theatricality. Restless Dance Theatre is presenting its latest work, In the Balance, which looks at relationships within a group. This is the first major Youth Ensemble production directed by their new Artistic Director, Michelle Ryan, who noticed the changes that occurred when new members joined this group of dancers, observing the various reactions and the change in the group dynamic. Her first production for the company bodes very well for the future.

Alec Baldwin ('The Departed,' 'Mission Impossible 5,' 'Blue Jasmine') and Danny Glover ('Lethal Weapon' series, 'Saw' 'The Color Purple') headline the cast of 'Andron' - a sci-fi, action adventure movie from AMBI Pictures Group, the movie development, finance, production and distribution group owned and run by Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi.

Some of Australia's finest dancers, including EDC's own, will gather in Brisbane this May to take part in the country's only solo dance festival.
