Westchester Broadway Theatre Opens THE SOUND OF MUSIC, 6/20

One of the world's best loved musicals, based on the memoir of Maria Von Trapp; The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. Maria is a young, aspiring but quirky, nun whose love of freedom makes it obvious to her superiors that she is not suited for religious life. Thus, she is sent off to be the governess to Captain von Trapp's seven troublesome children. Unlike previous governess', Maria becomes friends with the children due to their mutual love of music. She fills the lives of the Von Trapp children with "The Sound of Music" and captures the heart of their stern and lonely father. But, will their harmonious lives be torn apart when their beautiful homeland is ravaged by war? Rodgers and Hammerstein's Tony Award-winning musical delights audiences with the uplifting story and an irresistible score: "Climb Every Mountain," "Do-Re-Mi," "Edelweiss" and "My Favorite Things." Bridge Studio to Open Second Annual Variety Show, 3/3

After the success of their first-ever Variety Show in 2011, Bridge Studio for the Performing Arts are bringing more big entertainment names to Dumont in their second installment of the show. Featuring performers from the Broadway stage and TV, Bridge Studio's second annual Variety Show is all set to wow audiences at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (344 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ) on Saturday, March 3 at 7:30PM. JEKYLL & HYDE Takes The Stage At WBT 9/30-11/28

Robert Cuccioli, who starred as Guido Contini in our recent production of NINE and in our record-breaking runs of Arthur Kopit/ Maury Yeston's Phantom, as well as Detective Stone in Cy Coleman's City Of Angels, will be returning to Westchester Broadway Theatre as the Director of our long awaited encore production of Jekyll and Hyde. Almost ten years to the day, Mamma Mia returns to the city where the show had its North American premiere. It isn't the happiest of homecomings, due to an annoying tendency for the cast to overplay the material. Still the songs are as effervescent as ever and the book cleverly weaves them into a slender story.

Featuring the powerhouse vocals of an immensely talented cast, set against the visual artistry of Mark Thompson's production design, it becomes clearer with each performance that Phyllida Lloyd's direction remains relevant and fresh and that Anthony Van Laast's choreography is as clever and imaginative as the first time you saw it onstage. Clearly, this cast is completely committed to their performances - but more importantly, they are committed to ensuring their audiences have a wonderful time. After all these years, you know they could be just phoning it in, but instead they are performing their hearts out, delivering a theatrical experience that audiences can only cheer, their ovations growing ever louder and longer.
