VenuWorks Founder and President Steve Peters and business partner, international singer and producer, Michael Londra have announced the formation of VenuWorks Theatricals. VenuWorks Theatricals will produce unique theatrical events for Broadway, national and global touring.

Writers Theatre today opened its new theatre center, featuring two theatres in a stunning building designed by Studio Gang Architects, led by principal Jeanne Gang, and built by general contractor W.E. O'Neil Construction. The new home, the centerpiece of a $34 million fundraising campaign, provides nationally-recognized Writers Theatre with two intimate performance spaces under one roof, improved patron and artist amenities, and rehearsal and production spaces. Located on the site of the former Woman's Library Club of Glencoe, the new center was developed in partnership with the Woman's Library Club and the Village of Glencoe.

As BroadwayWorld reported just two days ago, GLEE and THE WIZ LIVE! star Amber Riley will take on the role of 'Effie' when DREAMGIRLS makes its UK debut at London's Savoy Theatre this winter. And Riley is no stranger to the musical's challenging anthems.

Big news in the DREAMGIRLS world tonight! The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye just revealed the news that GLEE and THE WIZ LIVE! star Amber Riley will play 'Effie' when the musical makes its UK debut at London's Savoy Theatre this winter.

Broadway actor and 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 19 Champion, Alfonso Ribeiro, has been named the new host of ABC's 'America's Funniest Home Videos.'

The Victory Dance Project will celebrate its first anniversary with an evening of dance entitled People, Power and Possibility on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 7 pm at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street (at 9th Avenue).  The performance will feature five works choreographed by Company Director Amy Jordan, including Big Fun, and the premiere of an excerpt from Thru the Looking Glass and Human Revolution, a contemporary ballet in five sections. The evening will honor former Ailey star Principal Dancer Renee Robinson, a renowned dance artist who will receive the company's First Annual Artist for Peace Award.

The Daily Mail writes that SOMETHING ROTTEN! director Casey Nicholaw will officially be directing DREAMGIRLS in its UK debut.

DREAMGIRLS is headed to the West End! According to the Daily Mail, producer Sonia Friedman has the rights to tackle a full West End production, with BOOK OF MORMON and ALADDIN helmer Casey Nicholaw in talks for the director's chair.

The New Colony is pleased to announce its exciting winter line-up of Side Stage programming, a collection of free readings presented on select nights in January and February at its new home, The Den Theatre Upstairs Mainstage, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Side Stage kicks off with a five-year reunion reading of The New Colony's second season smash hit 11:11, followed by readings of three new works: STANLEY IN THE NAME OF LOVE, KIN FOLK and THUMBZ UP. Side Stage programming takes place during off-nights of The New Colony's world premiere musical PLASTIC REVOLUTION, playing January 16 - February 22, 2015. From 2nd February 2015, the cast of the Olivier Award-winning The Book of Mormon will be led by Nic Rouleau as Elder Price and Brian Sears as Elder Cunningham, who join continuing cast members Alexia Khadime, Stephen Ashfield, Hugo Harold-Harrison, and Chris Jarman at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London.
