The Fabulous Fox to Present THE DUKES OF SEPTEMBER, 6/20

Following the fervent reception of their previous tour in summer/fall of 2010, GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriters Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs are hitting the road again this summer as The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue. The Dukes will launch their nationwide Rhythm Revue on June 20th at 8 p.m. in St. Louis at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. Tickets are on sale now through MetroTix and are $65, $60, $45 & $40. ( more...)

Andy Sandberg to Direct LAST SMOKER IN AMERICA at Westside Theatre; Opens 8/2

The new musical comedy The Last Smoker in America will get its New York premiere this summer, it was announced today. The Last Smoker in America, with book and lyrics by Tony Award® Nominee Bill Russell (Side Show) and music by Drama Desk Nominee Peter Melnick (Adrift in Macao), will be directed by Tony Award-winning producer and director Andy Sandberg (Hair; Gore Vidals The Best Man) and choreographed by Tony Award® nominee AC Ciulla (Footloose). Performances begin Wednesday, July 11, 2012 upstairs at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street), with an official Opening Night set for Thursday, August 2, 2012. Ravinia Festival Announces 2012 Season: Idina Menzel, Barbara Cook & More!

Ravinia Festival President and CEO Welz Kauffman announced the festivals 2012 season, which offers more than 100 separate events exemplifying most musical genres, including the 77th residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The summer boasts a variety of musics legends from Philip Glass to James Taylor, along with 43 debuts, including Glee and Wicked star Idina Menzel, reggae master Jimmy Cliff, classic rocker Santana, Grammy-and-Oscar sensation Esperanza Spalding, and Musical Americas conductor of the year Jaap van Zweden. Ravinia Music Director James Conlon celebrates the 35th anniversary of his own festival debut as his contract is extended through 2014. ( more...)
