The revival of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING will play its final performance on Sunday, May 20, 2012. The 50th Anniversary production, which recouped its $9 million initial investment in December 2011, will have played 30 preview and 473 regular performances at BroadwayÂ’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). The twelve finalists for this year's Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year Competition will be judged by Danielle Hope (Dorothy in Wizard of Oz and soon to be in the film of Les Misérables), Michael McCabe (Producer, Wicked), David Shrubsole (Conductor, London Road) and Laurie Sansom (Artistic Director, Derngate Theatre, Northampton). The chairman of the judges will be Edward Seckerson, Chief Classical Music and Opera Critic for The Independent and the prize will be awarded by Julia McKenzie and a representative of Overtures: The Bunnett-Muir Musical Theatre Archive Trust, sponsors of the SSSSSPOTY first prize. The event is being hosted by Claire Moore (London Road/Miss Saigon) and takes place at 3pm on Sunday 27 May at the Queen’s Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London. (more...)

It was an 'Ugly Betty' reunion at HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING when Tony nominee Vanessa Williams stopped by the Al Hirschfeld Theatre to see Michael Urie as 'Bud Frump' in the show. The actress posted the photo on her WhoSay page, with the caption: "Backstage w my best #UglyBetty pal @michaelurie starring on broadway in #How2SucceedInBusinessWithoutReallyTrying. The long-running West End musical Wicked has just announced the third year of its hugely successful Wicked Young WritersÂ’ Award. Spearheaded by author of War Horse and former ChildrenÂ’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo, the Award recognises excellence in writing, encourages creativity, and helps develop writing talent in young people between 5 and 25 years of age from all backgrounds and areas of the UK. Biggley, beginning today for 6 months through Sunday, July 1, 2012. Mr. Bridges will co-star with GLEE star Darren Criss through January 22 and then Nick Jonas (January 24, 2012 - July 1, 2012).
