Passajj Productions Presents MADAME BOVARY : A MUSICAL, Beginning 5/17 by BWW News Desk - May 06, 2013
Passajj Productions will present A Musical: Madame Bovary, based on the novel by Gustave Flaubert, at Roy Arias Stage IV, beginning May 17, 2013. Marlene Thorn Taber will direct this musical adaptation by renowned composer and lyricist Paul Dick. Hayley Hoffmeister will portray Emma Bovary and Roger Rathburn (No, No, Nanette) is cast in the role of Charles Bovary. A Musical: Madame Bovary brings to life Flaubert's characters as they transition from youthful romanticism to mature reality except for Emma Bovary. This is the story of her passion. (more...)

Texas A&M University's MSC OPAS Announces Upcoming Season by BWW News Desk - Apr 26, 2013
Texas A&M University's MSC OPAS has announced the events coming to the 2013-14 "Sparks Will Fly" season. The organization unveiled a roster of performances to be presented from September 2013 to April 2014 that includes eight events on the Ann Cobb Wiatt Main Stage series, five on the Intimate Gatherings series, two on the OPAS JR series and two on the new OPAS Family series. Southern Rep Theatre continues its 26th Season Mainstage Series with the World Premiere of MOLD by John Biguenet at The Contemporary Arts Center directed by Mark Routhier starring Trey Burvant, Kerry Cahill, Randy Maggiore, and Carol Sutton. In MOLD, John Biguenet, Louisiana Writer of the Year 2012, completes his award-winning Rising Water Trilogy including RISING WATER and SHOTGUN about the flooding of New Orleans and its aftermath. Set the summer after the levee collapse MOLD depicts a young husband forced to choose between his wife and the city he loves. The production runs between March 20 and April 14. (more...)

Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra to Perform THE PLANETS, 3/10 by BWW News Desk - Feb 28, 2013
In its final concert of the 2012-13 season, CSO Associate Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson will lead the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) in a performance of Gustov Holst's The Planets. Michael Martinez and Fred Coscia have announced a special appearance by vocalist Briana Davis (Smokey Joes Cafe, The World Goes Round) at An Evening of Music and Comedy at Don't Tell Mama on August, 3, 2012. This showcase and variety show will also feature singers Tara Bruno, Michelle Guadalupe, Leandra Ramm and Joanna Schubert. Producer Michael Martinez has previously presented showcases at Birdland, Don't Tell Mama and theaters in New York City. Fred Coscia is an television host, producer and entertainment manager.
