Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) announced casting today for their upcoming production of BABY IT'S YOU! by Colin Escott (Grammy for The Complete Hank Williams, and author of Broadway-bound Million Dollar Quartet) and Floyd Mutrux (Broadway-bound Million Dollar Quartet and the award-winning film American Hot Wax).

Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) announced today, that they will present, by special arrangement with American Pop Anthology and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, in association with Universal Music Group, the world premiere musical BABY IT'S YOU!

Carrie Preston (True Blood), Jennifer Morrison (House), Elizabeth Reaser (Twilight), Michael Shannon (Little Flower of East Orange), and Patrick Wilson (Little Children, Angels in America, All My Sons) have been added to the roster of presenters at tonight's Casting Society of America New York 25th Annual Artios Awards® ceremony at The Times Center, in the newly built New York Times Building (620 Eighth Avenue). Comedian Janeane Garofalo will host this year's New York reception that will commence at 5:30 p.m. Simultaneously, the Los Angeles award ceremony will be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel reception will commence at 5:45 p.m. PST.

The production played 3 nights - July 31, August 1 and August 2 to cheering crowds, but the crazy part is - the final dress is done at 10am, in broad daylight and is open to the public, as the venue is a county-owned facility. People showed up in droves, for the run-through and cheered on the actors, the Hollywood Bowl orchestra and conductor Kevin Stites, who you will see is wearing a black, casual shirt for the rehearsal. The show's director, Richard Jay-Alexander, made a brief speech before the run, welcoming everybody, and in this exclusive footage, I was also able to catch him, in his dressing room, before the Opening Night performance.

Baby It's You!, a new musical, will have its world premiere at The Coast Playhouse (8325 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood) with performances from July 18 ? August 30. American Pop Anthology (co-producers of the musical Million Dollar Quartet, still running in Chicago after nine months, and heading for Broadway) will present the new musical written by Colin Escott (Million Dollar Quartet) and Floyd Mutrux (Million Dollar Quartet and the award-winning film American Hot Wax). THE MUSICAL has been extended again by popular demand through May 17, 2009, at the Hudson Mainstage Theatre (6539 Santa Monica Blvd.).
