The New York Civil Liberties Union (The New York State affiliate of the ACLU) today announced a star-studded lineup of award-winning performers for Broadway Stands Up for Freedom, its annual benefit show scheduled for Monday, July 25 at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts.

The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical 'Oklahoma!' takes the stage at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center July 15-17 and 22-24.

Paper Mill Playhouse has just announced the full creative team behind its season opener, the premiere of a new Disney stage musical, Newsies. Featuring music by eight-time Academy Award®-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, The Little Mermaid), lyrics by Jack Feldman and a new book by four-time Tony® Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), Newsies is adapted for the stage from the 1992 live-action Disney feature film musical. As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, this July, PlayhouseSquare returns to collaborating with acclaimed New York based producing agency The Dodgers, Carl Levin and Michael Minarik, to present a rare glimpse into the creation of live theater with Fat Camp. BroadwayWorld has confirmed online reports that Carly Jibson, Michael Buchanan, Janet Dickinson and Kate Loprest will all star in the developmental production.The show will run July 13-24.
