Tovah Feldshuh Set to Host BROADWAY BEAUTY PAGEANT on 5/20

It was announced today that four-time Tony Award nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning actress Tovah Feldshuh will return to host the seventh annual Broadway Beauty Pageant. Celebrity judges have also been announced. Andrea Martin (Pippin), Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), and Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar) have been tapped to judge the event which will take place on Monday evening, May 20th, at 8:00p.m., at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Lisa Lambert, the Tony Award-winning lyricist of The Drowsy Chaperone, will write the opening number. The popular event is the annual benefit of New York's Ali Forney Center. (more...)

Tickets On Sale Now for THE BROADWAY BEAUTY PAGEANT

It was announced today that tickets for The Broadway Beauty Pageant go on-sale. The seventh annual beauty contest is set for Monday evening, May 20th, 8p.m., at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (60 Washington Square South). Yesterday, December 20, Broadway's globally acclaimed revival of the Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO celebrated another momentous milestone and record-breaking when it played performance #6,681. With that 8 p.m. performance at the historic Ambassador Theatre, CHICAGO surpassed the original Broadway production of Les Miserables to become the third longest-running show in Broadway history. The segment entitled Broadway Sings for Pride will feature many Broadway, national tour, and recording artists who support the LGBT community. The contestants for the sixth annual The Broadway Beauty Pageant have been announced. Participants include Andrew Chappelle (Mamma Mia!), Wilkie Ferguson (Porgy and Bess), Corey Mach (Godspell), Jesse Swimm (Mary Poppins), and Anthony Wayne (Priscilla Queen of the Desert). Brent Barrett (Chicago) and past Pageant winners Frankie James Grande (Mamma Mia!) and Michael Cusumano (Chicago) are set to perform.
