ATG's HIMSELF AND NORA Begins Performances Tonight

The full cast of Jonathan Brielle's new musical Himself and Nora has been announced. Joining the previously announced Matt Bogart, Jessica Burrows and David Arthur are Cole Burden (25th Anniversary Production Les Miserables) and Lianne Marie Dobbs (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn). The show comes direct from its success at the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Previews begin tonight, April 24 with opening night slated for April 27. (more...)

The OMNI Ensemble will conclude its 30th season of concerts in the recital hall at the Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Staten Island, 2800 Victory Boulevard on Thursday afternoon, today, April 18th at 3:00 pm and at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music on Saturday evening, April 20, 2013 at 8:00 pm. Music Director/Flutist David Wechsler will be joined by guest artists Erika Banks, vocal, Jim Ponzi, guitar, Art Bailey, keyboards, Jennifer Vincent, bass, and Dave Forman, drums. (more...)

Photo Flash: Inaugural Johnny Mercer Writers Colony at Goodspeed Wraps with Musical Celebration

One month ago, 35 gifted lyricists, composers and librettists took up residency at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, CT for the first ever Johnny Mercer Writers Colony to participate in an environment of discovery and inspiration. Working in teams and housed in specially constructed quintessential New England two story cottages each equipped with a piano, the teams worked on over 30 musicals during the course of the month. On Saturday February 16, the residency program concluded with a Salon as had been done each week featuring a sparkling sampler of new musicals that were worked on throughout the month. Michael Jackson Glove Sells, Auction Raises $5 Million

Julien's Auctions, the premier celebrity and entertainment memorabilia auction house created a day full of special moments, worldwide bidding and the opportunity for museums, collectors and fans from around the world to bid on costumes and other items from the Collection of Tompkins & Bush, longtime fashion designers and friends of Michael Jackson. Darren Julien, founder and CEO of Julien's Auctions and Martin Nolan, Executive Director led their entire team in a fitting tribute to the King of Pop by wearing sequined gloves specially made for the auction event. The one-year anniversary of the passing of Dennis Tompkins was also observed with a moment of silence at the beginning of the collection offering. Lady Gaga was among the collectors as she tweeted Sunday that she bought 55 pieces in the sale administered by Julien's Auctions and said she plans to keep the items "archived and expertly cared for in the spirit and love of Michael Jackson, his bravery and fans worldwide."
