HAILE KING RUBIE: SPEAKING COLORS Exhibition to Open New Gallery in Harlem

An exhibition of works by Haile King Rubie, a 26-year-old Harlem artist with Down Syndrome, will inaugurate the Clara Francis Gallery, a new Harlem art spot, July 27 to August 17, 2016. The exhibition, 'Haile King Rubie: Speaking Colors,' is primarily drawn from Rubie's 'art waves' of 2013 and 2015 and features contemplations of his otherwise inaccessible inner world. The new gallery space, located at 2070 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., is a welcome addition to Harlem's art district.

Directed by Jeremy McCarter, the always highly-anticipated gala included scenes from Shakespeare's greatest works and the American poems, songs, and stories they inspired, performed by some of The Public's and the nation's, most celebrated actors and musicians.

The Jerry Orbach Theater (1627 Broadway), home to the longest running musical in the world, THE FANTASTICKS, believes the best present might be the magic of theater as they announces a first of its kind "SEAT OWNERSHIP AT THE FANTASTICKS" program. Much like the subscription style table sharing system that is employed at the world famous NYC restaurant RAO's where loyal customers have their own tables, fans of the show will be able to choose their seat of choice for any 12 performances throughout one year's time, specially designated with a plaque on that seat. Subscribers will be able to transfer tickets to friends or family or co-workers, should they choose. The subscription fee is $500.

Renowned tenor Anthony Kearns will sing the National Anthem ('The Star-Spangled Banner') at Citi Field this Fri., Aug. 28, 2015 before the New York Mets host the Boston Red Sox. Kearns will sing before the start of the game just before 7 p.m.

Sheen Center for Thought and Culture, located at 18 Bleecker Street, today announced a schedule of diverse and dynamic programming, as part of its upcoming Grand Opening.
