According to Deadline, Chloe East, Jacqueline Novak & Jennifer Grant are all set to join Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell in Sony's upcoming imaginative A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. They also join the previously announced Billy Magnussen, Sarah Gadon, Hamish Linklater, Lily Rabe, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Their roles in the film have not been confirmed and specific plot details are also being kept under wraps.

LA is presenting Broadway Bound: Songs & Scenes from Tony Award-Winning Musicals, a new jukebox musical created and directed by Laurie Grant, featuring Rex & Friends, all extraordinary musicians with different disabilities and perfect pitch. Rex & Friends will take you on a fantastic trip of a young man hearing Broadway music for the first time, featuring songs and scenes from acclaimed musicals that you know and love. The show opens May 3rd and runs through May 18th at The Blue Door in Culver City, CA. I decided to speak with Laurie about the creation and history of Rex & Friends, her experience working with people with disabilities, what motivated her to create this new jukebox musical, and the format for the show.

On Thursday evening, MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam was at the Berkeley Street Theatre as Canadian Stage held its opening of Diana Lopez Soto's Nomada. Prior to the start of the performance, MPP Wong-Tam formally congratulated Canadian Stage on the work it's done since receiving a $64,700 Capital grant from the provincial government's Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) in 2023.

The Outsiders star Brody Grant visited Good Mornng America on Tuesday to discuss his role as Ponyboy Curtis in the new musical. He highlighted the deep connection he has with the piece, pointing out this his mother had posters of C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, and Rob Lowe on her locker when she was in high school. On Tuesday, it was officially announced that Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, the fourth film in the franchise, is in development. The film will see the return of Renee Zellweger in the Oscar-nominated role and Hugh Grant as love interest Daniel Cleaver, who was absent in the previous film. Emma Thompson also returns as Bridget's doctor Rawling.
