New York's Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director) and Joey Parnes have announced that cast members from the critically acclaimed first national tour of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, now on Broadway at the St. James Theatre for a "Summer of Love" run, will hold another "Be-In" performance to benefit Broadway Impact on Sunday, August 7th at 7:30 p.m. at the Cooper Square Hotel Penthouse (25 Cooper Square, 3rd Avenue between 5th and 6th Streets). Broadway Speaks OUT and Dixon Place presented "Broadway Sings for Japan" on Monday March 28th at 7:30pm. This benefit concert for Japan earthquake and tsunami relief was be free admission with a $10 suggested donation to help out in the relief efforts. The concert helped raise over $1,000 for Japan clean water relief. ( more...)

The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will bow early in the West End on September 4, 2010, producers have revealed. While the production was scheduled to run through January 2011, the producers have reportedly decided not to recast the show after the current cast's contracts are up on September 4. The production opened at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End April 14th, 2010. ( more...)

On Wednesday, September 1, HAIR's 'Claude,' Gavin Creel, bid farewell to the production at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End. Creel originated the role in the Broadway revival that transferred to London this spring, which opened officially on April 14th, 2010. Last night, cast members from HAIR participated in the City Harvest canned food drive last night. The truck was parked in front of the Al Hirschfeld Theatre from 4 to 7 and cast members were there to greet fans dropping off food. With this, the cast continues its commitment to community service. HAIR Welcomes Vanessa Ray to the TRIBE as 'Crissy'

The producers of HAIR have announced the addition of Vanessa Ray to the "Tribe." Ray, making her Broadway debut, temporarily replaces Allison Case in the role of "Crissy" until January 2010. HAIR began preview performances on March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and opened to rave reviews on March 31, 2009. Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle also honored the production with their 2009 award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical.
