The Seattle Theatre Group, (STG) has announced the upcoming 2013-2014 season, with a fair amount of focus on performances taking place at a revitalized Moore Theatre. History has been made at The Moore and the future is about to get a bit brighter. This season offers a great opportunity for renewing a relationship with the oldest operating theatre in the city. STG is making transformative improvements that will significantly expand comfort and dramatically increase the ability for smaller, more 'off-Broadway' style productions, including those produced by local theatre companies, to take place at The Moore. Nominees Zac Brown, Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), and Mumford & Sons, along with five-time GRAMMY winner, GRAMMY Legend Award recipient, and 2000 MusiCares Person of the Year honoree Elton John and GRAMMY winner and Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient (as a member of the Staples Singers) Mavis Staples will join together for a special tribute to the late Levon Helm as part of the annual In Memoriam segment on the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast. Current nominee T Bone Burnett will serve as musical director for this special tribute to Helm. Additionally, current nominees Miguel and Wiz Khalifa also are set to perform on Music's Biggest Night. Thirteen-time GRAMMY winner Dave Grohl, three-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Ne-Yo, and TV and radio host/producer (and newly appointed Honorary Chair of the GRAMMY Foundation Board) Ryan Seacrest will appear as presenters. Grammy Award-winning singer and accordionist Stanley 'Buckwheat' Dural, Jr., leader of Buckwheat Zydeco, is being treated for early stage cancer on his left lung and a vocal chord. Dural will begin treatment immediately and doctors expect a full recovery. Buckwheat Zydeco will postpone dates throughout the winter but expect to be back on the road in the spring and summer.
