Joe's Pub at The Public welcomes world premieres, highly-anticipated debuts and the return of many esteemed performers this May and June. Funny girl JULIE KLAUSNER makes her debut with two evenings of cabaret. Legendary downtown performance artist JOHN KELLY returns to premiere Rebel Songs. The 60s-inspired flight attendant PAM ANN returns for five nights in the Cockpit. Award-winning Kawartha Lakes Personal Trainer Sean Francis is getting ready to host the Grand Opening of his Fit Body Boot Camp Kawartha Lakes and is donating 100% of the proceeds generated on the Grand Opening Day to help the Kawartha Lakes Fire Department with funding to support the local community with fire safety. Being a successful personal trainer and owner of Fit Body Boot Camp Kawartha Lakes, Sean Francis has a passion for helping others reach their fat loss goals and getting people involved in their community. Francis is now using his passion for fitness and community to open the Fit Body Boot Camp Kawartha Lakes located at 50 Mary Street West, Lindsay, Ontario K9V 2N6, and using it as an event to help raise funds and support for the local fire department. Mary Kay Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Girls Empowerment

True to its mission of enriching women's lives, and in celebration of its 50thanniversary, Mary Kay Inc. is sponsoring the first U.S.-Brazil Girls Empowerment Conference. Mary Kay's partnership with the U.S. Department of State will help promote the rights of women and girls around the world. Approximately 80 young women between the ages of 13 and 17 from Brazil, the United States, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay will participate in the event. The girls were selected to participate based on their leadership qualities at school, in their community and their work supporting social development and human rights. (more...)

The conflict prompts Goldie (Georgia King) to reveal the origin of Shania's (Bebe Wood) name leading to brief identity crises for both of them. Later, While breezing through their wedding planning, David suggests that Bryan invite his mother Colleen (guest star Mary Kay Place), but her added opinion leads to more conflict and an unusual resolution. Meanwhile, Clay (Jayson Blair) decides it's time to let Goldie know how he feels, after receiving some unsolicited advice from Brice (guest star John Stamos). NeNe Leaks also stars. 2013 Teen One-Acts Festival Winners Present Plays at Berkeley Rep, Now thru 3/24

Fall Festival, THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN, Benjamin Britten and More Set for Cleveland Orchestra's 2013-14 Season

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced its 2013-14 season. Music Director Franz Welser-Most will introduce a Fall Festival, pairing symphonies by Beethoven and Shostakovich, and an all-Brahms weekend with two programs featuring Brahms's Violin Concerto and his Second and Fourth Symphonies. Mr. Welser-Most brings opera back to Severance Hall, with a semi-staged production of Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen. Guest artists returning to Severance Hall include Leon Fleisher, Mitsuko Uchida, Radu Lupu, and conductors Christoph von Dohnanyi, Pierre Boulez, and Herbert Blomstedt. The Orchestra celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Britten with performances of his Spring Symphony, Violin Concerto, and Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings. (more...)
