Broadway in South Africa Moves 5th Anniversary Celebration to Avenues, the World School, 5/6

The previously announced Broadway in South Africa 5th Anniversary Celebration-a star-studded concert of original music based on essays and letters from South African students who participate in their youth development programs-will now take place at Avenues, the World School, a brand new state-of-the-art 'world school' and 'integrated learning community, located on the High Line. Tovah Feldshuh Set to Host BROADWAY BEAUTY PAGEANT on 5/20

It was announced today that four-time Tony Award nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning actress Tovah Feldshuh will return to host the seventh annual Broadway Beauty Pageant. Celebrity judges have also been announced. Andrea Martin (Pippin), Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), and Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar) have been tapped to judge the event which will take place on Monday evening, May 20th, at 8:00p.m., at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Lisa Lambert, the Tony Award-winning lyricist of The Drowsy Chaperone, will write the opening number. The popular event is the annual benefit of New York's Ali Forney Center. (more...)

On April 6, Their Most Imperial and Sovereign Majesties, Emperor XXI Ritz Kraka and Empress XXVI Witti Repartee, presented The Night of a Thousand Gowns -- a dazzling display of regal glamour, an opportunity to celebrate the LGBT community, and in particular, the colorful cross-dressing segment of that community. In its twenty-seven year history the Imperial Court of New York has donated over 1.5 million dollars to worthy LGBT, HIV/AIDS and youth enrichment related causes. Kelly King Wins Best Singer at Vina Del Mar Song Competition in Chile

Singer Kelly King won the 2013 coveted 'Silver Seagull' Award for best international singer at the Viņa Del Mar International Song Festival in Chile. The festival has been held annually since 1960 and is considered the most important musical event in the Americas. Organized by the largest television station in the country, Chilevision, King performed her title track, 'Keep The Dream Alive', and was awarded Thursday February 28, 2013 with the coveted award while being the underdog of the competition.
